Established in 1775 on the north side of Piazza San Marco, Gran Caffe Quadri faces Florian across the square and shares its claim as one of Europe's great historic cafes. Now part of the Alajmo restaurant group, the ground-floor cafe retains period furnishings while the upper-floor restaurant has earned Michelin recognition. The coffee is classic Italian espresso served with ceremony; the location and architecture are the draw.
