Founded by journalist Carol Monteiro and filmmaker Lara Carmo inside a vila off a quiet stretch of Rua Fernandes Guimaraes, Fica was one of the places that established Botafogo as a serious coffee neighborhood when it opened in August 2016. The house uses lighter-roast lots from producers including Pereira Villela and Wolff Cafe, and the child-friendly, unhurried atmosphere was built into the concept from day one. It remains a benchmark for how a neighborhood specialty cafe should feel.
