Braud & Co opened its original bakery at Frakkastigur 16 in 2016 and reset the standard for artisan baking in Reykjavik almost overnight, with organic sourdoughs, laminated pastries, and now-iconic cinnamon buns made daily in an open kitchen. The original branch is primarily a takeaway operation with very limited seating. Coffee is well-sourced and capably made, though the queuing crowd is mainly drawn by the pastry case. Multiple locations have since opened around the capital area.
