Co-founded in 2021 by Houston White and Dogwood Coffee's Dan Anderson, The Get Down was purpose-built to bring specialty coffee and economic opportunity to North Minneapolis, a neighborhood that national coffee culture had largely overlooked. Across from North Market and Weber Library, the shop roasts its own beans and serves everything from classic espresso to the We Got the Jazz New Orleans-style chicory latte. One of the most meaningful coffee openings the Twin Cities has produced.
