Proyecto Diaz is a family-owned Oakland roaster with roots in Oaxaca, Mexico -- the family has farmed coffee there for generations and now roasts those beans in West Oakland. The cafe on 20th Street serves drip coffee, espresso, and specialty drinks including a cinnamon-infused cafe de olla latte and cold brew lemonade alongside authentic Mexican food including tamales. It is one of the few cafes in Oakland where the cup you're drinking is traceable all the way back to a specific family farm.
