The original Fuglen on Universitetsgata 2 opened in 1963 as a bar and was reborn in 2012 as a celebrated coffee shop and cocktail venue, its Scandinavian mid-century interior preserved entirely intact including original 1963 wallpaper. Everything on the floor is for sale, from vintage furniture to ceramics, making each visit feel like browsing a living design gallery. Fuglen's in-house roasting tilts slightly fuller than the Nordic average, and the bar transitions to cocktails as evening falls.
