Figure 8 was founded in 2014 by Ryan Hall and Kathleen Carmichael and operates as both a roaster and a cafe, which keeps the pipeline from green coffee to cup unusually short. The Chicon Street location in East Austin is the flagship and carries a rotating selection of single-origin coffees prepared by knowledgeable baristas. The interior is spare and considered, suited to both quick visits and longer stays.
