The original Cong Caphe, opened in 2007 by artist Linh Dung at 152D Trieu Viet Vuong, is the birthplace of a chain that now spans dozens of Vietnamese cities and has expanded to Seoul and Manila. The interior is deliberately nostalgic, evoking 1970s and 1980s Hanoi through military memorabilia, enamelware cups, and furniture that looks reclaimed from a state-era apartment. The signature drink is ca phe cot dua, iced coffee blended with coconut milk to a thick, shake-like consistency, developed here on the historic cafe street.
