Cole Coffee has been creating community at the corner of College and 63rd in Rockridge since 2005, roasting fresh beans in-house and serving them in a warm, sofa-filled room that feels genuinely lived-in. The roasting operation is serious but unpretentious -- Cole is one of the East Bay's longest-running independent roasters -- and the relaxed atmosphere draws regulars for long sits with laptops and conversation rather than quick-hit espresso. A second College Avenue location rounds out coverage of the Rockridge corridor.
