Cilantro Cafe
Downtown / Wust el-Balad · Cairo
Cilantro opened its first location in Cairo in 2000 and is widely credited with establishing the western-style cafe format in Egypt and paving the way for international chains that followed. The Downtown branch on 31 Mohamed Mahmoud Street is one of its oldest, operating close to the American University in Cairo's historic Tahrir campus. The menu covers a full range of espresso drinks, drip coffee, sandwiches, and pastries across a comfortable, WiFi-equipped sit-down space.
