Cherry Coffee Roasters is a women-owned operation on Laurel Street in Uptown that sources beans from small South American farms and roasts them in-house for maximum traceability. The cafe launched as a pop-up inside Stein's Deli before a Kickstarter campaign funded the standalone Laurel Street location in 2016, which grew into a rustic-industrial space with patio seating. Bruleed oatmeal bowls and thoughtful pastries pair well with their dialed espresso, and the weekend brunch crowd reflects the cafe's deep roots in the neighborhood. A second location in the LGD has extended the brand's footprint without diluting the focus on quality.
