Cafe Riche opened in 1908 at 17 Talaat Harb Street and ranks among the oldest surviving cafes in Cairo. The venue has served as a meeting place for intellectuals, nationalists, and revolutionaries across more than a century, with Naguib Mahfouz and Gamal Abdel Nasser both counted among its regulars. Today it offers espresso alongside traditional coffee in a preserved belle-epoque interior. The full dining menu and late hours make it a rare downtown anchor.
