Delhi, by the cup

India · 13 hand-picked cafés

Delhi NCR has emerged as one of South Asia's most exciting destinations for specialty coffee, with a dense cluster of house roasters, precision espresso bars, and filter-forward cafes concentrated across South Delhi, the historic market belts of Khan Market and Connaught Place, and the creative pockets of Hauz Khas and Lodhi Colony. The wave began with Blue Tokai, founded in 2013 as one of India's first direct-trade roasters, and has since widened to include estate-to-cup ateliers like Savorworks, roastery-cafes like Quick Brown Fox and Kaffa Cerrado, and Mumbai imports like Subko's LoCol flagship. Gurugram adds a corporate-district layer via Blue Tokai at Galleria and CyberHub, and KC Roasters' siphon bar inside Foodhall's DLF Phase 1 outpost.

The city's geography shapes its coffee identity. South Delhi neighbourhoods - Hauz Khas, Greater Kailash, Defence Colony, and Chhatarpur - host the highest density of genuine specialty venues, where Q Graders, micro-lot sourcing, and manually brewed pour-overs are the norm rather than the exception. Lodhi Colony has become a secondary cluster since Subko's 2025 arrival, while Connaught Place and Khan Market anchor the central premium-cafe circuit. Rossette Coffee Lab in West Delhi's Ashok Nagar and Kaffa Cerrado in Okhla demonstrate that specialty credentials now reach every corner of the city.

For a visitor building a coffee itinerary, the Hauz Khas Market strip alone offers Quick Brown Fox on its third floor, The Drop just below, and Blue Tokai a few minutes' walk to the village edge - making it the easiest single neighbourhood for a half-day coffee crawl. The new Sunder Nursery cluster at Cortasso adds a heritage garden setting near Humayun's Tomb. Gurgaon's Galleria Market remains the go-to for residents of the satellite city, with Savorworks' One Horizon Center outpost providing a South Delhi-quality roaster experience within Cyber City limits.
