Kopi Tuku pioneered the accessible, street-level specialty coffee format in Jakarta, building its reputation around the Es Kopi Susu Tetangga, an iced latte sweetened with palm nectar that became one of the city's most imitated drinks. The Cipete original is a short walk from the MRT station and welcomes a broad cross-section of the city from morning to late evening. Hearing-impaired baristas staff the counter at multiple branches, and the Cipete location actively trains and employs members of the deaf community.
