One of New York's original specialty coffee pioneers, Ninth Street Espresso opened in the East Village in 2001 and helped set the standards for quality-driven coffee across the city. Their house Alphabet City espresso uses triple the standard bean quantity per shot for a concentrated, caramel-and-citrus cup served by some of the most knowledgeable staff in the city.
