Mokarar Coffee

Known locally as Harar Coffee Shop, Mokarar traces its roots to 1944 and specialises exclusively in dry-processed Harar beans, which it roasts in-house. The no-frills Piassa address on Belay Zeleke Road, in front of Soramba Hotel, draws coffee drinkers who want nothing more than a perfectly pulled espresso at an honest price. The single-origin focus and decades of consistency make it a rare surviving example of pre-specialty-wave Ethiopian urban coffee culture.
