Kobrick Coffee at 24 9th Avenue is a fourth-generation roasting family that moved from New Jersey origins to a Meatpacking District cafe where baristas are cross-trained as mixologists. By day it runs a full specialty coffee program with small-batch house roasts; after 8 PM the lights dim, candles appear, and a liquor cabinet rolls out from behind the menu board. The dual identity makes it one of New York's more unusual hospitality concepts, and the coffee itself is grounded in nearly a century of roasting experience.
