The original Frothy Monkey opened in 12 South in 2004 and has never stopped feeling like the neighborhood's living room. It operates as an all-day cafe and full-service kitchen, roasting its own coffee under the Frothy Monkey Roasting Company banner and baking bread and pastries in-house. The patio out front is reliably packed on temperate Nashville mornings, and the menu runs from strong espresso drinks through a full brunch and into dinner hours. One of the longest-running independent cafes in the city.
